I became a Christian over 22 years ago. I believed I was zealous for the things of God, as I even took up Bible studies, though I did not graduate. However, I was reluctant to share the gospel with others as I was still smoking. I believed this would not be a good testimony to others.
I attempted to quit countless times but to no avail. It reached a point where I felt overwhelmed by condemnation, leading to bitterness and strife consuming me. Eventually, I left my church. This was 12 years ago.
In early 2023, I bumped into a former church member. We started chatting, and he shared with me the gospel of grace. I was skeptical, but he assured me that what I might have heard about the gospel of grace was not the complete picture. He shared two of Pastor Prince’s YouTube videos with me, advising me to watch them to the end.
After finishing the two videos, I immediately subscribed to become a Gospel Partner. Within one month of watching Pastor Prince’s sermons, I decided to quit smoking again, this time by partaking of holy Communion daily and declaring, “I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus,” with every puff I smoked.
Within less than one month, I was completely delivered from 40 years of smoking bondage without any withdrawal symptoms. I was also set free from the grudges I used to hold onto. Today, I am totally set free by the truth, and the joy of the Lord is fully manifested in me, to such an extent that all my friends started asking me about my changes, which gave me the opportunity to openly share the gospel of grace with them.
Today, Romans 1:16 comes alive to me: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.” Thank you, Pastor Prince, for preaching the gospel faithfully. All glory and honor to our Lord Jesus Christ.
