Praise Report: Healed Of Diverticulitis And Emotional Hurts

I had been going through symptoms of menopause for about five years and decided to get surgery. At the same time, I was trusting God to see me through very stressful family situations, such as planning for a baby shower with a relative.

About two weeks before the baby shower, I had to go into the emergency room due to extreme pain in my abdomen. It turned out I had diverticulitis—an inflammation in the colon—and had to be warded for four days.

I was in so much pain and could hardly remember any Scripture, but I knew God loved me and would see me through this. I kept declaring His presence in my situation and willed my body to line up with His Word.

Thankfully, I did not have to undergo colon surgery. Jesus healed me and I know it is a testimony to my family. Moreover, I did not experience any menopausal symptoms after that. The Lord also helped me pay a part of the hospital bill through an insurance company. God is good.

In hindsight, I believe my physical ailments were a result of carrying hurts, disappointment, and bitterness in my life. I thank Jesus for healing me just by me looking to Him and remembering my righteous identity in Him.

Today, I can glory in the miracle He gave me. And if the enemy tries to fill my mind with doubt and unbelief, I simply remind him of Jeremiah 30:17 which declares that God has restored my health and healed my wounds through Jesus’ finished work on the cross.

Pastor Prince, thank you for helping me see Jesus in every area of my life!

I smoked 26 years. My mom passed away in 2013 and she smoked. Her last request for me was to “live” and part of that I’m sure was to quit smoking. So. I tried quitting a half dozen times since then. Sometimes I’d last 5 days, or 13 days. I tried all brand names to quit, ecigarettes, patch, gum. I even paid for hypnosis and that worked okay for about a week. Finally, I was mad. At a nice dinner restaurant one day with my sister, I left to go for a cigarette. I heard her talk about quitting and how important it was and I had had enough. I slammed my cigarettes down on the table and yelled, “well! Tough! I can’t do it! I’ve tried and tried and tried! I can’t do it- God’s gonna have to do it otherwise I can’t.” Just a day or so later, I felt like I was having a mini stroke (brought on by a stressful situation) and from that moment on, I didn’t want a smoke at all. Been smoke free now for almost six months and I know in my heart I’m done. Forever done with smoking. I think the Lord is great and good and I am so happy and thankful for this because I’m a mom. I want to live for my two beautiful children and be healthy for me and God’s purpose in my life and to be here for my friends, family and especially my children. Glory to God!
