Praise Report: Experiencing Success In Business After Being Retrenched

I had always felt like a total failure, as I had always been last in everything—in school, in college, in sports, and in work. I had never experienced success in anything and thought I would ever do well in life.

In 2005, after working for fifteen years in a telecommunications company, I was retrenched. My wife and I decided to return to our hometown in Cape Town. In 2006, my oldest brother, a businessman, gave me an opportunity to run his company that provides people with accommodation. At that time, the company was bankrupt and I had no idea how to run it let alone make it successful.

One day, the Lord spoke to me and said, “This is your business as I have given it to you. Carry on and do what you have to do and I will lead you.” So I went on and did what I felt was the right thing to do for the success of the company.

Indeed, the Lord has been faithful and He helped me turn the business around. He has also blessed my wife and I abundantly—beyond anything we could ever dream or imagine. We now own properties of our own and our house is nearly paid off.

The most amazing thing is that even before I knew anything about the business, God had anticipated our needs and had set me up to be successful at it—I had already bought a house that is just five minutes’ drive from my office. Because it has a large garage, we were able to use the garage to store the company’s cleaning equipment. We were also able to turn a room in the house into an office where an employee handles the administrative work.

Truly, God set me up to develop and be successful at this business. And He has been faithful—we have never suffered any losses and have only made profits. The business is effortlessly successful without the “sweat.”

My life was changed when I first heard the grace message that I am the righteousness of God in Christ and that all my past, present, and future sins have been forgiven. All glory to God for His wonderful grace, as I certainly do not deserve all these blessings. Thank You, Jesus.
