Praise Report: Delivered From 28-Year Smoking Habit Effortlessly

Pastor Prince, I just want to let you know that after reading your Daily Grace Inspirations devotional titled, “Lord, I Cannot, But You Can!”, I too was delivered from smoking in the same way.

I used to smoke at least two packs of cigarettes each day and this went on for twenty-eight years.

After hearing the grace message, I began proclaiming my righteousness in Christ.

One day, I bought a carton of cigarettes because I wanted to have enough supplies over the busy weekend ahead. I was smoking and watching television but halfway through, I decided to put out the cigarette.

Then, I heard a calm voice in my head saying, “That was your last one.” I said, “Okay.”

At that moment, I was feeling a bit perplexed by what had just happened to me, and I wasn’t even thinking about God.

It has been more than five years since then and I have never experienced any withdrawal symptoms or cravings!

I even found the carton of cigarettes weeks after the incident and simply threw them out without a second thought.

People have asked me how I managed to quit smoking. I would tell them this story but, sadly, many of them still think it was my willpower that broke the habit. Ha!

God knows I didn’t have any willpower to quit this addiction!

Yes, I had been hoping to stop smoking, but I thought it would take a long time and require much effort on my part. But it was NO effort at all! Jesus did it all for me.

It has been absolutely amazing and I still thank Jesus often. It feels incredible to be free from something that had such a tight hold on me.
